Stars sizzle the ramp for Ritu Kumar

Designer diva Ritu Kumar kicked off the inaugural show of the HDIL India Couture Week with a cocktail of Bollywood stars, reigning beauty queens and former supermodels walking the ramp with elan and elegance. The show stopper of the evening Tuesday was Bollywood actress and former Miss India World 2008 Priyanka Chopra in a maroon lehnga with intricate zardozi work all over and a green choli with a big emerald green maang tikka on her forehead.

Kumar’s collection was divided into four different lines. The opener was a collection of black and gold evening gowns, chogas, long tunics, saris, lehngas, anarkali suits and Kutchi gathered coats worn over divided loose pants with dhapka, mukaish and a range of metallic embellishments on them.
