Speaking of her latest movie, He’s Just Not That Into You, which comically chronicles the romantic misadventures of several individuals and communication between the sexes, the actress said that even relationships and love needed de-coding.

“If he really doesn’t call, I would say forget it,” Johansson said. “I think that that’s the unwritten rule, is that the guy should call the girl,” CBS quoted her as telling the Early Show.

The Lost in Translation star further added that obsession over every message or text was also an absolute no-no.

She said: “I don’t like neediness in any way. Men or women. It’s nice to feel wanted and romanced and all that, but I need to have my time to do things with my friends and my family.”

“So if somebody’s calling me too much, it gives me, like, anxiety. ‘Like what’s wrong? What happened? Who died?’ “

Meanwhile, Johansson recently admitted that she “fears” for her future in Hollywood.

The Vicky Cristina Barcelona star said that she often wonders how long her career in the “ageist” movie industry will last – so is preparing to become a director before movie bosses start passing her up for roles.

She told a magazine: “It’s hard to be a 24-year-old actor and not be typecast. A lot of roles are either for a sexy person or a Juno-type character.”

“That ageism makes the actress fearful for her future, making her consider another path within the industry. There is some weird ageist quality in Hollywood, perhaps that’s why I lean more toward directing and development.”

“That’s probably the direction I’ll take; I can’t keep up this face forever, you know.”

The couple announced their engagement in May.

“We’re just enjoying our time,” the actress said last month. “We’re just recently — very recently — engaged. So, you know, we’re just taking it easy. And no big plan yet. But it’s a good time and we’re just … enjoying our time to be young and engaged.

“I mean, I’m 23. There’s no reason to rush into it. Everything feels very natural and relaxed.”

Johansson most recently starred in the Woody Allen film “V CB.” Reynolds starred on the TV show “Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place” and the romantic comedy “Definitely, Maybe.”

“My mom is a romantic person and I think I inherited that from her, there are all different types of romance, the romance you share with a partner, but there’’s also the thoughtfulness you have with your children, that can be romantic, ” the China Daily quoted her as saying.

“Then there is remembering what people like and what they appreciate and wanting them to experience it – that’’s romantic to me,” she added.
