“Titanic” and “Avatar” director James Cameron succeeded in reaching the depth of the Mariana Trench Sunday, becoming the first person in the world to complete the feat in a solo dive.

Cameron, who is also an avid explorer, plumbed the depths of “The Challenger Deep”, a depth of 35,756 feet southwest of Guam in the Pacific Ocean, National Geographic said.

The director surfaced from the ocean at about 7 p.m., reported Xinhua.

“All systems OK,” Cameron, who is National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence, told the crew after reaching the lowest point on earth.

“Just arrived at the ocean’s deepest pt,” he said in his Twitter account roughly an hour after reaching the lowest point of the ocean.

“Hitting bottom never felt so good. Can’t wait to share what I’m seeing w/ you@DeepChallenge.”

The endeavour was achieved after seven years of preparation. Cameron, 57, travelled solo inside Deepsea Challenger, a torpedo-shaped specially crafted submersible that he helped to design.

Under Deepsea Challenge, a joint scientific expedition which partnered the director with National Geographic, Cameron was to spend up to six hours on the sea floor, collecting samples for scientific research and taking pictures and video of the famous trench. The director/explorer surfaced in 70 minutes which was considered faster than expected.

Cameron is the only person to ever complete the dive to the point in a solo vehicle, and the first since 1960 to do so in a manned submersible when the feat was completed by US Navy Lt. Don Walsh and Swiss oceanographer Jacques Piccard in the bathyscaphe Trieste.

Demi Moore has been hit really hard by reports that that her estranged husband Ashton Kutcher had a four-hour liaison with Rihanna this week.

She has reportedly been telling friends that she now wants Kutcher out of her life.

On Thursday night, Rihanna’s car was seen dropping the pop star at party animal Kutcher’s mansion Los Angeles shortly before midnight. She’s believed to have been picked up and taken home at 4 am.

“Ashton’s been spotted with numerous women in the past few weeks and it’s really hit Demi hard,” the Mirror quoted a source as saying.

“She feels like he’s rubbing her face in it with all these women and having a female like Rihanna visit his bachelor pad late at night is the final straw for her.

Reports emerged that Rihanna and the ‘Two and a Half Men’ star have been secretly “dating” for the past eight weeks despite both celebrities being linked to other partners.

They have yet to comment on the reports but this is their second sighting together in one week.

Sources say the ‘Umbrella’ singer is playing hard to get and knocking back Kutcher’s advances, maintaining she wants to keep their relationship platonic.

However, the friendship could be enough to push heartbroken Moore over the edge. She only checked out of rehab at the start of March following her split with her husband.

“Demi’s been very fragile,” the source said.

“But she’s got a good support group around her. She just wishes Ashton would start being more low-key and taking note of the fact while he is able to party around LA, she’s a woman with a broken heart who is going through a hard time.

“She expects a bit more respect from them both, especially in the public eye,” the source added.

Moore and Kutcher married in September 2005. She filed for divorce last November after claims that he had shared a night of passion with party girl Sara Leal, 22 on their sixth wedding anniversary.

Alex Torres, who goes by the screen name Voodoo, was speaking on ‘The Jim Richards Show’ on Newstalk 1010 in Toronto on Friday when he divulged his A-list romp.

Richards asked Torres for suggestions as to what questions he should ask Michael in an upcoming interview.

Kim Kardashian’s elder sister Kourtney Kardashian has announced that she is pregnant with baby number two.

The 32-year-old reality star has revealed that she is just nine weeks into her second pregnancy.

Kourtney and partner Scott Disick, 28, already have a son Mason, who turns two on December 14.

“Scott and I are so excited to announce that we are expecting our second child and are thrilled to be expanding the love in our family,” the Daily Mail quoted the 32-year-old reality star as telling E!.

Kourtney first revealed the news to this week’s issue of Us Magazine.

The older sibling of Kim and Khloe said that she woke her partner Scott up at seven o’clock after taking a positive pregnancy test to share the news.

‘Now I’m nine weeks along,’ Kardashian tells the magazine. ‘You’re supposed to wait 12 weeks to tell people, but I feel confident.’ourtney’s younger sister Kim took to Twitter to express her excitement at the happy news.

“This is such a blessing and the whole family is beyond thrilled!” she tweeted.

“I just know Mason will make the best big brother and I can’t wait to meet my new little niece or nephew!

“Congratulations Kourtney and Scott. Xo” she wrote.
